The district of Kypseli falls under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Athens and, according to the latest 2021 census, has a population of approximately 65,000 residents. Urban development began after 1930, with the resulting apartment buildings and detached houses being influenced by the prominent international architectural movements of the era, such as Modernism, the Bauhaus school, and Art Deco.
