Chalandri is an extensive district and a namesake municipality within the Northern Sector of Athens. It spans an area of 10,8 km2, situated at the southern foothills of Mount Pentelicus with an elevation ranging from 180 to 250 meters. According to the latest census, it has a population of approximately 77.000 residents. To the north, it borders the areas of Marousi and Vrilissia; to the south, Neo Psychiko; to the southeast, Cholargos; to the east, Agia Paraskevi and Gerakas; and to the west, Marousi and Filothei.
Due to its significant geographical size, the Municipality of Chalandri is comprised of several distinct neighborhoods. In the northern part of the city, one finds "Polydroso," located on the borders of Marousi, and "Metamorfosi," which borders Vrilissia. To the northeast lies "Patima," a strip of land between Vrilissia and Gerakas that reaches nearly the foothills of Penteli. In the southern and eastern parts, "Neo Chalandri" has developed around the Nomismatokopeio area, while to the west lies "Agia Varvara," bordering the Municipality of Filothei-Psychiko.
