The district of (Palaio) Psychiko is located in the Northern Sector of Athens, situated on the eastern slopes of the Tourkovounia hills, and falls under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Filothei - Psychiko. It stands at an elevation of 190 meters and, according to the latest census, has a population of 9.781 residents. To the north, it borders Filothei; to the south, the areas of Nea Filothei and Girokomeio; to the west, Galatsi; and to the east, Chalandri and Neo Psychiko.
Psychiko is characterized as a "Garden City," as it is one of the greenest areas in Athens, featuring numerous parks where residents can enjoy their walks in a serene environment.
Neo Psychiko is a district within the Municipality of Filothei - Psychiko, situated in the northern sector of Athens. As a small district of the now-unified Municipality, it was initially established as an extension of the Chalandri area. Subsequently, in 1946, it was recognized as the autonomous Community of Neo Psychiko, later attaining the status of a Municipality.
