The vision

Back in 2013, the company’s founder and CEO Theofanis Roussas was studying some astronomical maps for Saturday’s outing on the east side of Penteli, wanting to note the stars he would photograph that night with his amateur telescope. But instead of looking at the maps of the northern hemisphere, he accidentally opened the map of the southern hemisphere. His eye fell on the constellation of Tropis (which looks like a ship) where the (α) alpha Carina, Canopus star, ruled.

The vision

It made a big impression on him, so he started looking for it a little more, as he was not concerned with the stars and constellations that were not visible in the latitude of Athens.

He learned that Canopus is about 300 light years from Earth and is a white supergiant, 10.000 times brighter and 250.000 times larger in volume than our Sun. Its brightness and position in the celestial sphere make it the reference point used by many modern spacecraft and satellites to navigate through the vastness of space.

After reading some mythology, he learned that Canopus was the navigator of King Menelaus of Sparta, when the latter was on his way to the Trojan War with his 60 ships.

That’s it… The business dream now has a name : Canopus.

So, Canopus embodies the vision for the creation of a company that would be, in the future, the model and the reference point to which everyone would aim to orient themselves correctly and the navigator who would guide, with safety and confidence, anyone who wanted to reach a difficult and distant destination and achieve their goals.

Our story

Canopus P.C. was founded in 2013 as a single person private company (S.M.P.C.) by Theofanis Roussas, and with the entry of Fotini Papachatzi into the company, it quickly expanded into real estate services, property management and insurance, in order to fully meet the needs of our ever-growing and demanding clientele.

Our Story

This is how we created our first brand name, “CANOPUS BROKERS”, with which we started to operate mainly in the Real Estate sector. As our clients started to ask more and more for our excellent services, we decided to grow even more and in June 2020 we became part of the global RE/MAX family with the brand “RE/MAX Canopus”. This move strengthened us and gave us access to tools and expertise that made us even better in the demanding Real Estate industry and also the ability to serve clients not only throughout Greece, but also around the world. At the same time, we created the right environment to attract the best Real Estate Agents and provide them with everything they need to go from being the best to becoming the best. Our partnership with RE/MAX ended in September 2023.

After that we created our new project with the brand name “YOUR HOME SOLD by CANOPUS BROKERS™”, in order to enter the market of the most expensive and luxurious properties, but also to implement a fresh and unique idea in the Greek Real Estate market, where our professional Agents will gain access to unique service packages that will make them top of the line and far away from the “cheap competition”, but also for our exceptional clients who will be able to enjoy exclusive, comprehensive and high quality services that no one else provides in Greece.

Since its establishment until today Canopus P.C. has been a healthy and profitable company, a benchmark and navigator in the sectors in which it operates, with the largest percentage of its profits today coming from real estate and related services.

Leadership

Theofanis Roussas

Broker / Owner

Theofanis Roussas is the founder and CEO of the company and a major shareholder. He was born in Athens, grew up in Galatsi, and holds a master’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Since 1998, as a freelancer and entrepreneur, he has constructed public projects with a budget of millions of euros, has participated in hundreds of tenders, studies and teams of large private projects, has a contractor’s degree of higher class for construction of buildings, roads, public hydraulic works, ports and industrial – energy projects and is currently a shareholder in a 4th class construction company, contributing his license and experience.

Full Bio

Since 2013 he has been actively involved in the local real estate market and has prepared dozens of property valuation reports. At the same time, he has attended over 3.000 hours of seminars and courses, always related to the real estate market, especially on sales, communication, marketing, negotiations, business strategy, valuation, real estate laws, specialized technical issues, etc. For selected clients, he exclusively represents them in the sale of their properties. He spends his free time first with his family and his Agents, and if there is anything left over, he will devote his time in writing a HOW TO manual for the real estate profession, creating educational videos for real estate consultants, and on social media, with real estate information and tips. Fotini Papachatzi

General Manager

Fotini Papachatzi is the COO of the company and the second shareholder. She was born in a beautiful place just outside Vytina, but at the age of 3 she moved to Athens.

She grew up and went to school in Ampelokipi and studied at the Hellenic Pedagogical Institute. She started working in kids daycare centers, but something kept pushing her towards sales and business. So, in 2002, after passing an exam at the University of Piraeus, she obtained her certification and license to practice as a financial and insurance consultant.

Full Bio

Thanks to her talent in sales, she quickly built up a large portfolio and clientele and worked with the biggest companies in the field, winning major awards and always being among the top producers. This inexhaustible talent was not to be wasted and so she entered the real estate sector and the real estate profession. With her many years of experience, she had no difficulty at all in adapting and excelling in a highly competitive field and is not only the first in sales in our office, but also was the first Broker in production in the RE/MAX network in Greece for 2022.

She has attended many seminars and training programs related to the real estate industry, Greek and from other markets in Europe. She lives in Maroussi with her family and often visits her parents’ house in Vytina for relaxation, but with her mobile phone always on. She holds the record of 100% success in the sales of the properties she selectively undertakes.
